Dividing a circlento 20 (n) equal parts and join all the points , we get a picture like this.................

How many lines are there ?
If we use Geogebra, any number of points may be marked and joined by lines quite easily.

Steps for constructing the applet 

 

Download and Install Geogebra 4 (or use ubuntu 11.04 or use the latest version of Ubuntu10.04 customized by IT @ School)

Applications --> Education --> Geogebra4എന്ന ക്രമത്തില്‍ ജിയോജിബ്ര ജാലകം തുറക്കുക. പുതിയ കുറച്ച് ടൂളുകള്‍ കൂടി ഇവിടെ കാണാം. (ഉദാ :Pont in Region, Insert Button, Insert Textfield, Pen Tool etc. )

Step 1. Slider on Number . (Name : a ; Interval - Minimum : 1 Maxium : 4 Increment : 0.1 )

Step 2. Slider on Integer . (Name : n ; Interval - Minimum : 2 Maxium : 50 Increment : 1 )

Step 3. ജിയോജിബ്ര ജാലകത്തിലെ Input bar ല്‍ Circle[(0, 0), a] എന്ന Command ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്ത് Enter Key പ്രസ്സ് ചെയ്താല്‍ ജിയോജിബ്ര ജാലകത്തില്‍ ഒരു വൃത്തം വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. ഇതിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രം (0,0) യും ആരം a യും ആയിരിക്കും. a എന്ന പേരോടുകൂടിയ സ്ലൈഡര്‍ നീക്കുമ്പോള്‍ വൃത്തത്തിന്റെ ആരം മാറും.

Step 4. Input bar ല്‍ Sequence[(a cos(2 π / n k), a sin(2 π / n k)), k, 1, n] എന്ന Command ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്ത് Enter Key പ്രസ്സ് ചെയ്യുക. nഎന്ന പേരോടുകൂടിയ സ്ലൈഡര്‍ നീക്കുമ്പോള്‍ വൃത്തത്തില്‍ ബിന്ദുക്കള്‍ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നതു കാണാം. മെനു ബാറില്‍ Edit --> Object Properties ല്‍ List എന്നതില്‍ List1 സെലക്ട് ചെയ്ത് Name ബോക്സിലുള്ള List1 എന്ന പേര് മാറ്റി മറ്റൊരു പേര് (l)നല്കുക.

Step 5. Sequence[Sequence[Segment[Element[l, i], Element[l, i + j]], j, 1, n - i], i, 1, n – 1] എന്ന Command നല്കുക. ഇപ്പോള്‍ വൃത്തത്തിലെ ബിന്ദുക്കളെ യോജിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള വരകള്‍ വല്ലിട്ടുണ്ടാകും.

സ്ലൈഡര്‍ നീക്കി മാറ്റം നിരീക്ഷിക്കുക. സ്ലൈഡറിന് അനിമേഷന്‍ നല്‍കാം.
